Navigating Healthcare

We’ve provided hundreds of clients with the highly skilled help they need to get coverage, navigate our healthcare system, and maintain good health

Healthcare is complicated. We’ve screened more than 800 clients nationwide, and found that more than half were not getting the healthcare they were eligible for. Every year, we provide every client the start-to-finish help they need to make sense of their options, whether through an employer-based plan, a policy they buy themselves from the Marketplace (in many cases with a subsidy), or through a government-based plan (e.g., Medicaid, Medicare, or the VA). Every After Innocence client knows that he or she can call us anytime for help understanding their coverage.

But we don’t stop there, because merely having health care is not the same as making good use of it. Every After Innocence client gets one-on-one "concierge" help from our health care advocates to ensure they can see doctors and specialists, sort out coverage problems, and get the most out of the healthcare they have.

For many clients, this highly skilled help has meant the difference between having coverage and going without care, seeing a doctor for the first time in years, including getting the preventative care that helps catch problems early. Nearly every client we assist tells us they would not have had this level of help from any other source.

“I recently turned 65 And where'd I go for Medicare? What do I know about that? I don't have a doctor. They were there experience, expertise, generosity, and most of all professionalism. All the questions and things that I needed done were answered quickly and taken care of. I can't thank them enough.”
