Free Dental Services Project

Over $800,000 in donated dental care to 221 clients across 22 states… and counting

Most exonerees got little or no dental care while wrongfully imprisoned. Once released, many still can’t get help: Even with insurance, out-of-pocket costs can be unaffordable, especially for those needing major work.

Apart from physical discomfort and pain, dental problems can impact how exonerees see themselves and how others see them, get in the way of building relationships and even finding a job.

Since 2018, we’ve partnered with Pacific Dental Services, a large network of independently owned dental offices across 22 states, for their annual Serve Day in mid-August.

We match each client with local dentists willing to provide free care, in many instances resolving all of that client’s current needs, and creating a path to a lifetime of good oral health.

This project is made possible by support from the Pacific Dental Services Foundation, the Futures Foundation and the Patterson Dental Foundation.

Help Us Bring Free Dental Care to More Exonerees

Your contribution will enable us to reach more exonerees who still need dental care. We’ll ensure that each client gets a free dental exam and x-ray to identify their needs, and the start-to-finish help to get them care, including from our annual pro bono project wherever possible.
